CHELTENHAM GOLD WINS GOLD IN THE INTERNATIONAL BREWING & CIDER AWARDS
Goffs Brewery based in Winchcombe has been awarded the Gold Medal for Cheltenham Gold in the Cask Ale 4.4% to 4.8% category at the International Brewing & Cider Awards 2026 for the second time running!
Following three days of deliberation from an international panel of 38 judges, 115 medals were awarded to beers and ciders including winners from Cambodia, China, Czech Republic, Finland, Norway, Taiwan, Thailand, USA and the UK.
The International Brewing & Cider Awards provided an unparalleled opportunity for brewers and cidermakers to have their products evaluated by globally acclaimed, commercially practicing brewers and cidermakers, led by Chair of Beer Judging, Rob McCaig and Chair of Cider Judging, Gabe Cook.
Ruth Evans MBE, Director of the International Brewing & Cider Awards, said: “This year proved to be one of the toughest yet to determine which of the beers were deserving of a medal.”
Goffs Brewery have been hand crafting their beers for over 30 years using traditional methods. Libby Elswood, Operations Manager, said “We’re absolutely blown away by this award. To have our beer pitched against some of the best in the world is quite something, and then to have won it for a second year running is super special. Everything we do is focussed on quality & consistency, & winning this again is testimony to this.”
Marcus Goff commented “I’m extremely proud of the team & no doubt we will have a pint or few to celebrate. In the name of quality control of course.”
